Exfoliation 3 Ways

Exfoliation 3 Ways

We’re nearly done with the semester; can you believe it? We sure can’t.

As times get harder and the sunlight hours shorter, we musn’t lose focus on what’s most important – ourselves. Sometimes it becomes a matter of habit to say “I don’t have time”, or “maybe tomorrow”. But the reality is that you can always make time, and you can do it today! Let’s start by taking it day by day.

With so much going on, we need to pay even closer attention to the little things that amount to big things: I’m talking about self-care. Prioritizing doing something as simple as exfoliating can make a big difference. You can feel renewed, clean, and ready to take on the day like the powerhouse you are.

Exfoliating has numerous benefits, including smoothing out scars and dark spots, as you remove the layers of dead cells that remain on the surface of your skin, making it look dull. After exfoliating, your skin should feel smooth and your complexion should appear brighter.

So today, I bring you three simple, quick, exfoliating tips that can be done every once in a while to help you get through the craziness of this fall semester and make you feel refreshed in your few quiet minutes.

Face:

Coffee is a great exfoliant! I recommend taking a tablespoon of coffee grounds, another of brown sugar, and a few squeezes lemon juice. Mix it all together in a bowl and begin to scrub lightly on your cheeks, chin, and forehead after you’ve removed your makeup. Let the mixture sit on your face for a few minutes before rinsing it off.

Lips:

This tip couldn’t be simpler! When brushing your teeth, simply take your toothbrush and brush your lips like you would your teeth — small circular motions. That’s all there is to it! The bristles of the toothbrush will be just enough to scrape off any unwanted dead skin from your lips, so you can go about your day with glowing, smooth lips. You’ll definitely have the confidence to rock those sexy, autumnal hues — ruby red, here you come!

Body:

Body scrubs are hands-down my favorite! There is no better feeling than exfoliating after a long day. To smooth out the skin on your body, I would suggest getting exfoliating gloves. Put on the gloves when you’re in the bath or shower, and apply body wash to your hands like you regularly would. Then, gently lather yourself and let the gloves do all their scrubbing work! Your skin will be glowing, supple, and smooth when you’re finished! Definitely apply lotion to lock in moisture when you hop out and dry off!

Though exfoliating is effective, it should only be done two or three times per week, as excessive exfoliating could cause some irritation on the skin or make you prone to dryness. However, exfoliating does have fantastic benefits to it and requires almost no time to do. Exfoliating weekly could help to get a smoother finished look when applying makeup, improve the appearance of dry skin, and elevate your fall semester glow-up!Drink water, exfoliate, and take this fall semester day by day.

Much love Everyone!
