DIY (Hair Mask) technique

I have always been a fan of DIY (do it yourself), whether for moisturizers, face masks, or hair masks. This summer, I even started using my DIY cheek and lip tints. DIY is perfect as you can modify each and everything based on your skin type and hair type. If you have dry skin, you should use a more buttery base in your moisturizers. On the other hand, if you have oily skin as I do, use citrus fruits for a liquid base, which is not very oily. The same goes for hair masks or any other DIY product you’d ever consider making. The secret of DIY is customization to your needs, desires, and preference.

Recently, I tried a DIY mask for deep conditioning. It is perfect if you have rough hair. It is a mixture of honey and coconut oil in a ratio of 1:3. You use less honey because it has a sticky texture, which might get difficult to wash off eventually, but it is essential for smooth, silky hair.

After trying a few permutations and combinations, I believe gently applying the hair mask with patience and leaving it on for 20 minutes while you watch an episode of Friends gives a great result. Make sure to gently wash your hair with lukewarm water and, of course, your favorite shampoo. After trying this mask for 3-4 weeks once a week, I saw amazing results, and I’m sure so would you! The days you put on the coconut oil and honey hair mask, you wouldn’t even need to use conditioner for smoothness.

This hair mask is something that worked for a few of my friends and me. Nonetheless, everyone has different hair, and other products/DIYs work for them. The goal is to explore and know your type to achieve phenomenal results!

Have a good day!

Love,

Jhanvi
