There are billions of plants and flowers in the world, and companies attempt to replicate millions of them chemically because they are suitable and good for the skin and hair. However, the purity of 100% pure ingredients and the benefits from naturally occurring plants can never be fully incorporated in chemically-extracted versions. You have a significantly lower chance of getting a rash or allergic reaction from natural ingredients compared to chemicals used to model them. Here are a few well known and lesser known plants that are replete with cosmetic properties.

Witch hazel is a natural remedy to treat skin burns, acne, and other skin conditions. It also shields the skin from damage induced by exposure to the sun’s ultraviolet rays. It is made from the bark and leaves of a plant called Hamamelis virginiana. It contains tannins, a type of natural compound with astringent effects. Sunscreens are a replica of this amazing plant. Aloe vera is another gem known for its moisturizing, healing, skin-soothing, and rejuvenating properties. It is usually extracted in liquid or powder form from the plant itself. It has various medicinal and health benefits as well, which makes aloe vera unique and staple for everyone!

Lavender is credited with being anti-allergenic, anti-inflammatory, antiseptic, antibacterial, antispasmodic, balancing, energizing, soothing, healing, toning, stimulating, and more! There isn’t much in your routines that wouldn’t be spruced up by a bit of lavender! It is one of the major ingredients in countless cosmetics especially because it also provides a refreshing touch and relaxing scent. Chamomile continues to be used widely both in herbal medicine and skincare and cosmetics. In skin care preparations, it is used as a treatment for acne, boils, and allergies. It also acts as an amazing lightener for blonde hair. The vitamin E and fatty acids in sunflower seed oil work together to target a wide range of skin conditions — they’re good protectants against wrinkles and harsh sun rays and have anti-inflammatory properties that fight acne and rashes.
